Traffic Calming on Hadley Avenue Passes

The residents of Hadley Avenue have voted to approve the Nashville Department of Transportation’s plan for traffic calming with 79% in favor. There is currently no public timeline on the project.

NDOT’s plans include the following:

  • Nine speed cushions between Donelson Avenue and Robinson Road

  • Bulb-outs on Hadley’s intersections with 10th Street and 13th Street

  • Narrowing driving lanes with white edge lines from 10th Street to 13th Street

Speed cushions are intended to keep drivers from drastically surpassing the speed limit, while narrower lanes not only slow drivers down, but it would also allow for stronger distinction between driving lanes and church parking lots.

These plans can be viewed in detail here. Other streets approved for traffic calming and applications on file can be reviewed here.
