Tornado repairs being made to Old Hickory Lock & Dam

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has shared that the tailwater launching ramp and fishing platform below Old Hickory Lock & Dam will be closed beginning on Wednesday, February 12th for crews to remove fallen tress and debris from the December 2023 tornado. This cleanup will improve the walking trail and other surrounding areas. The closure is expected to last up to three weeks.

In the meantime, the Army Corps has shared a few helpful tips for anyone boating in the area.

Alternative Boat Ramp Access:

  • Old Hickory Beach Peninsula boat ramps remain open

  • Lock Two Park & Peeler Park (Metro Parks) offer additional boat ramps for access to the Cumberland River between Old Hickory Dam and Nashville Riverfront
